18.3mm – 8mm X 1.1m Tapered Carbon Boom

This 110 cm long lightweight carbon fiber boom tapers from 18.3 mm diameter to 7.7 mm diameter, with a wall thickness of 0.3 mm. It is made from high modulus carbon fiber wound onto a tapered form, encased in an epoxy matrix, and cured at high temperature. This high quality carbon boom (hollow tapered tube) is extremely rigid and strong, yet only weighs 23.5 g.

If cut down to less than the 90 cm limit for a legal UK Royal Mail postal tube this item will be sent by first class post, or Airmail post for overseas orders. If left full length it will be sent by courier, increasing the delivery cost.

This boom is ideal for lightweight low drag tail booms, especially for discus launched gliders (DLG), thermal gliders, electric, F5J and FF models.

Suitable for use with our Blaster2 V mounts. Note the weight is for the full 110 cm length. When cut down to a shorter length suitable for a DLG the boom weighs about 17g.
